Filtronics Perseveres Through Pandemic Year

Throughout this pandemic, Filtronics has remained open during our regular business hours. While adjusting to the many unique challenges during this time, we continue to service our customers and move forward with the projects awarded to us which are in various stages of completion.

One of the projects we are working on is a small arsenic treatment system funded by the Federal government for a California Border Patrol building.  This project has been delivered and we anticipate will be operational before the end of this month.

We are also in the middle of a direct purchase project requiring five complete filtration systems for a Village in Illinois which will be treating iron and manganese. The project was put on hold due to the pandemic after three of the systems had been shipped. The systems range in size from 400 gpm to 1,560 gpm and consist of 7 filter vessels in total.

Another direct purchase project on hold is a two-train reverse osmosis project to remove Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). This water district located in southern California has a prefiltration iron and manganese system treating water from 2 wells that was purchased from Filtronics decades ago. That Filtronics pretreatment system will feed water to the new membrane system to remove the TDS before being sent to the end user.

Additionally, we are working on a large groundwater project in Arizona, treating multiple wells for arsenic removal. This project requires treatment of nearly 4,300 gpm, and will use five filter vessels.  Four of these will be operating while one vessel will be on standby. The filter vessels have already been delivered, and we are proceeding with the project to completion, which we expect to be next month.

Just last week, we received a purchase order for a dual filtration system in Colorado for the Saddlehorn Ranch project.  This system will treat iron and manganese and is designed for 200 gpm but with capacity to treat 320 gpm in the future.  The system design gives the customer the option of operating one filter with the other on standby or running both filters simultaneously. We expect this system to be fully operational in the next few months.

While all aspects of business have clearly been affected by the pandemic, Filtronics is proud to have been able to continue assisting our customers and working toward the successful completion of our projects.
